Within the framework of the grant program announced by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, the Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies (UEICT) is implementing "CyberSecurity" co-financed by the Government.

Training goals

The Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies is implementing the Cybersecurity course for 100 participants, which will provide basic knowledge and skills in all areas of Cybersecurity, which are information security, systems security, network security, mobile devices security, physical security, ethical and legal requirements, methods and techniques ensuring business information security, as well as mitigation of consequences of incidents.

Students who complete the course will be able to:

  • Describe the characteristics of cybersecurity world criminals and experts
  • Describe how the principles of confidentiality, integrity and accessibility relate to data statuses and means countering cybersecurity threats
  • Describe the tactics, methods, and procedures used by cybercriminals
  • Describe how technologies, products, and procedures are used to protect privacy
  • Describe how technologies, products, and procedures are used to ensure the integrity
  • Describe how technologies, products and procedures ensure high accessibility
  • Explain how cybersecurity professionals use technologies, processes and procedures to maintain all network components
  • Explain the purpose of cybersecurity laws

What you should know

The Cybersecurity course is implemented by the Union of Employers of ICT through the Cisco Networking Academy platform. The training is being implemented by the Union of Employers of ICT for the second time, within the framework of the grant program announced by the Ministry of HTI of RA.

On the 7th floor of the 9th building of NPUA, the Union has established a Smart Solutions interuniversity center, where starting from September various courses, as well as the free of charge Startup Movement acceleration program for the students will be launched.

The program is open for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia living in the RA regions and the Republic of Artsakh (starting from 18 years old from Yerevan and 16 years old from regions and the Republic of Artsakh) who will successfully undergo the admission procedure and will meet the objectives of the program․

The target groups of the program are:

  • participants in the Artsakh wars (all the courses will be free for all the participants who have passed the admission procedure)
  • participants from the sectors, most affected by the COVID 19 pandemic (tourism, service sector companies etc.)
  • students
  • specialists working in the high-tech sector
  • anybody, who wants to receive basic and narrowly specialized technical education in the high-tech sector

To participate in the course, the applicant must have the necessary minimum knowledge and skills:

  • Computer skills
  • Intermediate level of English
  • Basic knowledge of network technologies

Before the start of the course, the applicants' knowledge will be assessed through an online test. Applicants who have passed the test will be invited for an interview.

The online admission test will consist of 20 questions (12 in Armenian and 8 in English). Preference will be given to participants with more than 60% of test results. At least one of the English questions must be completed correctly.

The courses are co-financed. The Government will cover part of the fee, which will depend on the results of admission and final exams. (see the table below).

Tuition Fee - 150,000 AMD

After passing the selection stage, the participant pays 50% (75,000) of the course fee, regardless of the result of the entrance exam. After passing the final exam of the course, the cost of the course will be recalculated.

For example, the average score of course admission and final exams was 80%:

  • If you are from Armenia, the amount of co-financing of your course by the state will be 70% (105,000), and the amount you will pay will be 30% (45,000). At the end of the course, the Union of Employers of ICT will refund you 30,000 AMD, so your tuition fee will be 45,000 AMD.
  • If you are from the region or Artsakh, the amount of co-financing of your course by the state will be 80% (120,000), and the amount you will pay will be 20% (30,000). At the end of the course, the Union of Employers of ICT will refund you 45,000 AMD, so the tuition fee paid by you will be 30,000 AMD.

The Cybersecurity programming course will be conducted 3 times a week (27 lessons, 2 hours each). The group will consist of an average of 50-60 students.

The course will consist of theoretical and practical parts:

  • The theoretical part will make up 54% of the total course
  • The practical part will make up 46% of the total course

The courses will be conducted online through a licensed Cisco Webex Trainings platform that meets all modern requirements. The Cisco Networking Academy platform will be used for the final exam, which allows you to automatically check and evaluate the solved tasks.

Please be informed that the applicant will be expelled from the course:

  • In case of 9 absences,
  • In case of not paying 50% of the total amount of the course within 5 working days after signing the contract.

Participants of the course will have the opportunity to get acquainted in detail with:

  • Cybersecurity. The world of experts and criminals,
  • Cybersecurity cube,
  • Cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities and attacks,
  • The art of secrecy,
  • The art of ensuring integrity,
  • Understanding the Five Nines,
  • Protection of Cybersecurity domain,
  • Access to the community of cybersecurity professionals.

At the end of the course, students will take an online exam/test, which will test both theoretical knowledge and practical skills gained throughout the course. The pass mark is 50%.

At the end of the course, the participants will get:

  • Certificate of Excellence (if the final score is 85% and more)
  • Graduation Certificate (if the final score is 50-84%)
  • Certificate of Participation (if the final score is 49% and less)

The CVs of the students, who will score 76% and more at the final exam, will be presented to partner organizations for possible job vacancies.

The Amount of money that government will pay for the training

The courses are co-financed. The Government will cover part of the fee, which will depend on the results of admission and final exams․

*All the courses will be free for all the participants in the Artsakh wars who have passed the admission procedure. The tuition fee paid by the participants will be reimbursed by the winning organization.
